What is Quality?

The word quality has multiple meanings:

1) Of a product or service is the perception that the client has of the same one.

2) Group of inherent properties to an object that  allow to appreciate it as equally, better or worse than the rest of objects of those of its species.

3) Group of qualities that can be defined as good, bad or to regulate.

4) Group of inherent properties to an object that you/they confer him capacity to satisfy implicit or explicit necessities.

5) Group of properties and characteristic (implicit or established) of a product or service that confer him their aptitude to satisfy some implicit or established necessities.

6) Should be defined for example in the context that is considering, the quality of the postal service, of the dental service, of the product, of life, etc.

Control of Quality

The control of quality is in charge of  guaranteeing the achievement of the objectives of quality of the work regarding the realization of the level of quality foreseen for the production and envelope the reduction of the costs of the quality.

Total quality

Model of administration that, based on a managerial system guided toward the quality, it pursues the satisfaction of all those entities (individuals, organizations and, even, the group of the society) related with the organization.

Circles of Quality

Small groups (less than 10 people; usually, personnel bases of the organization) of voluntary character whose objective is to analyze and to propose solutions to problems detected in its activities and its relationships with the quality.

System of Quality

Group of elements of organizational character - it structures, responsibilities, activities, resources, procedures, etc. - that support an administration model guided toward the quality. In definitive, a tool to get, to maintain and to improve the quality.

Administration of the Quality

Activities of the function manager that determine the politics of the quality, the objectives and the responsibilities, and that they are implemented through the planning of the quality, the control of the quality, the insurance of the quality and the improvement of the quality, in the mark of the system of the quality. (ISO 8402)

Audit of the Quality

Systematic and independent exam of the effectiveness of the system of quality or of some on their behalves. [In Law 21/1992].

Insurance of Quality

The Insurance of the Quality consists on to have and to follow a group of planned actions and systematic, implanted inside the System of Quality of the company. These actions should be demonstrable to provide the appropriate trust (so much to the own company as to the clients) that the requirements of the System of the Quality are completed.

ISO

It is an international organization created in 1946 with the objective of promoting the development of norms that could facilitate the international exchange of goods and services, and to develop the cooperation in the intellectual, scientific, technological and economic sphere of activities.

ISO 9000

The series ISO 9000 is a family of norms for the insurance and administration of quality. They are norms that offer the limits to continue to establish a system of insurance of quality, normalizing models of systems so much for generic and therefore applicable organizations to a company of services like a company producer of any type of well. These norms don't determine the technical requirements of products or services, but rather they indicate the conditions to complete for an organization to guarantee that all the factors (technicians, administrative and human) that influence in the quality of the product or offered service they stay inside the preset margins of variability.

ISO 9001

Processes inside an organization that you/they go from the market study, planning, purchases, design, production, inspection, sales and post sale. It includes a detection system and correction of deviations that it allows to generate an improvement it also continues for the company.

ISO 14001

The norm ISO 14001 are a voluntary instrument, of international environment that allows to negotiate the impacts of an activity, of a product or of a service in connection with the environment. Any organism, be which is their size and their installation in the world market.

Reengineering of Processes and Administration of the Total Quality

Both strategies:

  • They are centered in the business processes

  • They trust the responsibility of the employees

  • They measure the result from the client's point of view

  • They require the participation of the management of high level but the basic difference is that, while the Reengineering pursues the realization of drastic changes and radicals in the processes, with high risks and results to half and I release term (12 -18 months), the Administration of Total Quality is centered in the obtaining of incremental, gradual and continuous improvements, obtaining results to shorter term and with smaller risks.
